ServiceNow native app – Our 7 highlights

Together with the recent release of ServiceNow Geneva , a new version of the native iOS ServiceNow App is available for free download in the App Store

We tested the ServiceNow app for you and are glad to share our top highlights:

1. Top notch user experience
You can now take your work easily on the road, see the status and follow-up on tasks from everywhere. The app is intuitive and self explanatory. Browse your lists, open and edit forms, create new records, add comments or worknotes: Its has never been so easy to manage all these basic tasks from the mobile. Using ServiceNow app feels as natural as using Facebook.

2. All your work at a glance
When opening the app, all useful information is directly displayed on the homepage in the form of three kind of widgets:
Favorite widget: shows your favorite lists of records
Counter widget: shows the number of records depending on the filter you have defined. e.g. number of P1 incidents
Bar chart widget: shows the number of records grouped by a specific field. e.g. number of incidents by category

3. Attachments
You just dropped your laptop, it’s broken and you need it to be replaced ? No problem, open a ticket in the app, take a picture of the broken device like Fred Luddy did at K15,  and add it easily to the ticket. Service Desk will then take care of everything. In addition to your camera and photo library, any other attachments are at your fingertips since the app is connected to cloud services such as Dropbox.

4. Geolocation
Exact location is possible by sharing GPS coordinates within the app. Agent in the field is able to save a lot of time by sharing its exact location with one click instead of typing the full name of the location. Great for facility management.

5. Bar code scanning
Barcode scanning using the camera is another feature fully integrated within the iPhone. It is a great feature for managing assets as they can be easily scanned with the app and the information about the asset will be directly updated in ServiceNow.

The chat function allows you to directly write any user within your instance. You will also get push notifications if someone messaged you.

Never miss any messages or new activities again thanks to push notification mechanism. It is included in the app and notifies you each time there is new activity/messages in your instance.

Please note that new UI features require Geneva. Older releases will be rendered in the same UI as legacy app/browser.
